OUR JEWELLERY

Your handmade silver jewellery from SilvaFush has a greater purity than 14ct gold.

All precious metals used in jewellery are mixed with a percentage of other metals, this is called an alloy.

Fine Silver

Fine silver, also known as Pure Silver is the purest silver you can purchase.  It is an alloy of silver containing 99.9% by weight of silver and only 0.1% by weight of other metals.  This mix makes fine silver more pure than 14ct gold which is 58.5% gold by weight and 41.5% by weight of other metals.  One of the other metals mixed with 14ct gold is silver and obviously gold is more expensive than silver.

As silver is the metal of the soul/spirit, I prefer to work in the purest form.  Whilst fine silver is softer than sterling silver the colour and vibrancy of the metal is far more stunning than sterling.

Sterling Silver

Sterling silver is an alloy of silver containing 92.5% by weight of silver and 7.5% by weight of other metals, usually copper.

Copper

Copper is the metal of the body and for centuries people have believed that it has health giving properties.  Copper is a versatile metal and looks stunning as jewellery either polished or burnished.

CARING FOR YOUR JEWELLERY

I believe that jewellery is made to be worn and it comes to life when it is worn by that one special person that has chosen to give it a forever home.  If you need to store your jewellery I recommend you keep your jewellery stored in the anti tarnish box provided and that individual pieces are kept separate to avoid scratching and tangling.

Please avoid all contact with water, make up, body lotion, sun creams, perfume, hairspray, deodorant, cleaning products and any other chemicals, as these will tarnish and potentially permanently damage silver and copper.

Never wear your jewellery in the shower, when swimming or coming into contact with salt water.  Chlorine can permanently damage or discolour your jewellery.

It is natural for copper to change colour with time.

To keep your jewellery sparkling, you can polish it gently with a soft jewellery cloth.  Special polishing clothes can be purchased from SilvaFush if required.  I do not recommend proprietary jewellery/silver cleaners because I have found that some may cause silver to tarnish more quickly once used.  If such products are used then you do so at your own risk.

I recommend that you do not sleep in your jewellery as this can weaken chains, links and earring studs.

My products are not guaranteed for misuse.
